Eco Self Builds in Cyprus

Tommy Walsh (from BBC’s Ground Force Team) loves Cyprus! The island has been his favourite holiday destination for years. This year has seen Tommy complete his most ambitious project yet and he came to Cyprus once again for a well earned break.
To tell you a little about Tommy’s latest project, it was to build an eco-friendly home costing no more than £60,000 in 60 days. The build was televised and shown on Discovery Real. The show has been a huge success and opened many an eye to ecological issues when building.
The house was built with self builders in mind and many of the features included in Tommy’s home are available here in Cyprus through Kaimar’s self build projects.

Tommy agrees that the future of building around the world will polarise towards more and more energy efficient features and is keen to help Eco Self-Build in Cyprus along the way. Kaimar have two projects to launch in 2008, both are timber frame, the same as Tommy’s Project and we offer new eco technologies such as Ground Source Heat Pumps, Energy efficient Lighting, Rainwater Harvesters, High efficiency Solar Panels which produce electricity and hot water.
