CYPRUS LAWYERS CLAIM EATING OUT IN LONDON IS AN EXPERIENCE TO REMEMBER!!!
Cyprus Lawyers – Review of restaurants in London – by Giovanis Kouzalis – Lawyers in Cyprus – completed on 19th February 2010.
I lived in London for more than 9 years and in total 12 years across the UK. I always find it a pleasure to visit old neighbourhoods. Even if the visit is not for a pleasant nature, there is always something to entertain the troubled soul.
Travelling back to London always fascinates me especially through this financial crisis. It can be very interesting when it comes to shopping and eating out. Food in London is beyond your imagination and eating out is such an experience, of course this is nothing new to me being a Londoner.
In my recent trip to London, I experienced an exquisite restaurant called the ‘Hare & Tortoise’ situated at 11-13 Brunswick Shopping Centre, Russell Sq, WC1. It was actually my wife who spotted the place, as there was a long queue of people waiting outside the restaurant. The restaurant caught my wife’s attention while we were shopping at a cute little shopping centre nearby the Russell Sq Tube.
Having no choice as my wife insisted…. we visited the restaurant the next day and luckily missed the rush hour queues. I soon realized why there were long queues as it turned out to be a very basic concept, with basic tables and chairs and very basic service, but to my delight the food was excellent and the prices were the same. What a find this was!
The menu we chose consisted of 2 basic starters, 2 main courses, and a soft and fresh juice beverage as I could not consume alcohol!
The starters comprised Dumplings and Soft Beans, and for main course we had Curry Laska Soup and Roast Duck Rice. I have to say this was delicious.
Due to so many dishes available to us the competition between them was fierce so we had a portion of few different dishes. And visiting the restaurant on many occasions throughout our stay in London, we had the opportunity to experiment with a variety of the courses.
The maximum we paid was £34 and that was because we experimented with the tasty Crab and Prawns and sushi to compliment the dish…and still having either one of our favourites the Duck of Curry Laska. The prices were amazing and we could not have asked for better food.
Food kept coming in decent proportions and the meat was cooked to a high standard as were the sauces. Amazingly, the only issue I was not satisfied with was that I found the juices to be of poor quality.
I would definitely say that all dishes were more than satisfactory and there was no dish I would not order again but that’s me…. my wife would not hesitate to go back for the Curry Laska and Roast Duck Rice every time.
